Below are some of my recent/favorite copywriting projects. For more details or questions, please reach out to me.
Annie came to me saying her website copy never really felt like her (dare we say it even sounded “generic and boring”!?), and that it didn’t speak to her ideal clients. We had an extensive deep-dive session, and she shared thoughts and materials about her vision, her values, her life and personality (which influences how she works and excels as a therapist!), and how she runs her practice.
I ended up writing more than 8 full webpages for her: completely fresh and sounding-like her, as well as targeted at those clients she loves working with and helping the most! She says she’s never felt so happy and proud with her website after everything was implemented.
“We can’t change what has happened or what we’ve lived through, but what we can change is how our body and brain react to the memory and the painful emotions and sensations we’re feeling with it. We can change the way our bodies keep reacting to the pain. And it doesn’t have to take years (or even months) to get there. You can feel better in days.
[…] Our practice provides effective and fast-acting EMDR therapy to help target and heal people’s most intense traumas and deepest wounds. Unlike talk therapy, where you spend a lot of time talking about your pain, EMDR therapy can help you with painful memories and sensations over a few sessions, rather than months.
We are licensed, trauma-focused, and experienced EMDR therapists who have advanced training in EMDR for acute trauma or pain. We have provided therapy for over ten thousand hours treating individuals who have experienced traumatic events.“ [Specialized Services page]
“Jenna exceeded my expectations and went above and beyond to deliver a comprehensive package. I was especially impressed with her extensive research into my professional world of EMDR psychotherapy, and how she was able to take psychological jargon and shift it to something anyone can digest. She spent time learning and understanding my personality, passion, how I think and speak, and refining the copy together until it sounded like me. For the first time in 10 years, I feel my website reflects my voice and our services well. She is not only a fantastic copy writer, but she also has a background and acumen in marketing that is a great service as she is generous with her insight in this arena throughout the process. I cannot recommend Jenna highly enough!”

Joel came to me saying he needed copy on his website that reflected what he and his freelancer team are doing (which is so unique and different from the “agency angle”). He needed help communicating his team’s talents, specialties, and process effectively, as well as target better-fitting clients as his business is growing.
As I had already known Joel from our social community, we built on that relationship, and dove deep to uncover what his business should communicate. I helped him identify the most important pages to focus on and wrote copy for him that communicates the core of who he and his team are with their unique angle and skills. He said the copy was so on-point, he felt immediately compelled to “hire himself,” and he started getting leads within hours of implementing it.
“You know your brand and the value you deliver. Your clients rave about you. But you’re not fully confident with how your brand looks and if it’s communicating your true value and purpose. You probably have an okay logo, some stale marketing materials, and put your social media posts together as you see fit. But things are just not… reflecting who you really are as a business.
When your brand doesn’t fire you up with excitement anymore, it’s time for a re-brand!
You need a brand identity that feels like you’re looking in the mirror – it’s 100% you. And in a way that your audience will instantly connect to. GrowingDesign offers complete brand identity services, tailored to exactly what your business needs.
Comprehensive. Customizable. Collaborative.
So you finally grow a brand that feels like “you”.“ [Homepage]
“I reached out to Jenna because I understand the importance of copywriting. Being a brand designer myself I know how BIG the power of using the right words can be. And I was not wrong, just after two weeks of implementing the copy Jenna suggested, my website finally started to get me results, visitors finally started contacting me – which is my main goal for this website. Working with Jenna not only got me to use the right words but it also made me understand my own business better. After reading the first draft, I felt compelled to “hire myself” – the copy is so on-point that it makes you want to contact me right away! I not only recommend anyone to work with Jenna if they get a chance, but I also now consider her part of my team. Thank you Jenna!”

The owner of this exceptional one-of-a-kind healthy and delicious “deli” came to me saying she needed to update the copy on her website to more accurately reflect her voice and what amazingness they deliver. She also went through a recent business change after the Covid-19 pandemic hit the area.
Since I love vegan (and healthy) food and businesses, I was excited to help her re-write more than 10 pages for her business! Since the business is also local, I got to taste some of their amazing creations and validate the quality for myself! She said she loves how her business sounds now and was especially impressed with the “About” page I wrote for her, as she said it included excellent deep research into her business and values.
“Our Mission and Values: At Que SeRaw SeRaw, we believe you shouldn’t have to choose between healthy and delicious. Food can be both. We are on a mission to prove that treating our bodies well can also be a treat for our taste buds. A plant-based diet is good for both our bodies and our planet – individual health and global wellbeing go hand in hand.
Organic, local ingredients: We use organic ingredients because we think that pesticides and chemical fertilizers do us more harm than good. We aim to prepare the freshest, healthiest, and most decadent foods possible, and that’s why we only use the highest quality ingredients. We support local, organic, and sustainable farmers and suppliers whenever possible.“ [About page]
“Jenna was fabulous to work with! She made my website verbiage come to life! She took the time to learn about my photography business and the voice I wanted to put out into the world. I feel like the new copy on my website sounds like my authentic voice, professional and consistent throughout the website. I will definitely be using Jenna for all my copywriting needs. If you are considering a copywriter for your business, I highly recommend Jenna! Trust me, even if you think you are a decent writer, Jenna will perfect your copy!”

The client – a successful SaaS company – wanted a cornerstone content page that could communicate the most essential terms of their business and industry to potential clients, leads, and prospects. They also wanted this page to be optimized for SEO’s best practices. I interviewed several subject matter experts at the company and then created a “CRM Glossary” featuring over 70 terms for the business and CRM software industry. This page now ranks as one of their cornerstone content pages and also helps them be found through organic search.
“B.A.N.T.: BANT is a traditional qualification framework that covers the four commonly-used lead qualification criteria (Budget, Authority, Need and Timeline) used by sales teams to decide whether and how to move potential prospects forward and down the sales funnel. While BANT is still used by traditional sales teams, a more modern qualification approach that has been identified is CHAMP. See C.H.A.M.P.

Raw Leads: A raw lead is an unqualified contact that was generated by marketing activities such as requesting the download of an asset, social media interaction with the brand, webinar participation, or in-person attendance of company events. A raw lead simply describes a person requesting information from the company, but has not been verified or qualified by a salesperson yet.” [Glossary excerpt]

This client came to me after she had just re-written parts of her website but needed to change everything again because she wanted to change her niche. We had a deep-dive brainstorm session to help her identify whom she wants to work with and why.
I did extensive research into her target market and ideal client personas, and came back with a new angle and fresh tone for her business. I re-wrote the 3 main pages she wanted to focus on for this project, and helped her hone in on her voice, unique value she provides, and ideal clients. She says she loves how her business sounds now and the new group of people she works with now!
“Your inner voice may tell you, you’re not good enough, and that you have to work harder, do more, achieve more, be better, and that you will never get it all done, or all right.
But here’s the sneaky truth: When you engage in negative self-talk or self-defeating thoughts, it actually trains your mind to focus on your flaws and everything that’s not right, instead of letting you notice and enjoy all the good things in your life, like your strengths, your accomplishments, and moments that bring you joy.
While this can feel frustrating and discouraging, I want you to know: there is a way to freedom. I’m here to help you understand and implement the right tools for mindfulness, stress management, and building resilience that will guide you to a more confident and fulfilled life.
And with the right techniques, you can retrain your mind to allow you to think positive things about yourself. Thoughts and feelings that build you up from the inside and make you feel good about yourself – without feeling any guilt or shame, but by feeling a sense of wholeness and contentment. “ [Homepage]
This amazing wedding photographer came to me, explaining that her work is so unique and compelling because of the editorial background and skills she infuses. Her website had been communicating her business in a flat way that didn’t make her feel confident or that it could speak to her true abilities. We had a deep-dive session to uncover what she is about and how her unique style and experiences influence and accentuate her work.
I wrote two of her most important pages (one that acted as her professional photographer bio), and she said she loves the new messaging and that she now feels confident about how her bio and webpages represents her.
“Michelle’s style can be described as chic and elegant, modern and stylish, yet minimalistic and timeless. Her approach to capturing the most intimate moments of the event is rooted in her editorial background and underlined by her eye for authenticity, composition, and lighting.
Couples have often admitted that Michelle’s images transported them back to not only the most special day in their lives but to the magic and the very emotions they had felt on that day. Michelle achieves a sort of visual storytelling in her pictures that lets her clients relive the most precious moments of the event.” [About page]
This meditation- and yoga coach needed an email series fast to sell her luxurious in-person meditation and yoga retreat just over 2 months away (making this a rush project!). We had a deep-dive session to talk about her business, retreat, and goals for this campaign. Since she wanted to focus on an email series to her two main existing lists, I created two email sales series (for two different audiences) consisting of 5 emails each. I made sure to create a cohesive, flowing, and engaging series in her brand voice, speaking to her ideal client’s desires, objections, and goals, and with the ultimate goal of selling rooms for her retreat. (We also included social ads and two event webpages for this campaign to achieve a push across multiple channels.)
“How much is on your to-do list right now? I’m guessing a lot (like on mine).
When we’re overloaded with work, home, family, and just “everyday stuff” we can get easily caught up in all that there is to do. 😦 You might think there’s no way you can afford to spend time or money on “self-care” now. Because your goal is to get everything done on your to-do list, and you’re trying to do it fast, perfectly, and (most likely) all on your own. The problem is: it’s exhausting. And you will never get it all done. It’s impossible.
Research has shown that when we are too busy, our bodies and mind start to suffer. Our cognitive functioning worsens, we are unable to focus, we sleep worse, and our immune system weakens. To be your best self, you need to make yourself a priority. You need to create opportunity to recharge, rejuvenate, and renew – especially when you’re busy.” [Email #2 (out of 5) copy excerpt]
This was a sample project I created for one of the animal sanctuaries I volunteer at. It is an engaging, funny, and warm 6-part email sequence, welcoming new subscribers to their list. We share what subscribers can expect, how they can get involved and help hands-on, as well as interesting and funny animal updates and “facts and bits.” I made sure also to include various segmentation options in the first email (which will sort subscribers into different email marketing funnels), as well as always relevant links for subscribers to learn more.
Sample Copy:
“3 things you can look forward to from us in your inbox: 1. Animal highlights and features! Ever wondered how Gizmo, our gentle giant steer, or Nibblets (Mama Goat) made it to our farm? We’ll tell you their stories and what makes them unique – watch for emails each highlighting a different animal ambassador!
2. Keeping you updated on weekly farm news: We’re continuously improving our animals’ living quarters, and changing our agriculture fields to adjust for a variety of crops. You will be one of the first to hear what’s new every week! We’ll also throw in some educational bits and facts about farming and sustainable technology. Oh, and the occasional vegan recipe! Yum!
3. Opportunities to get involved: Community is huge for Sweet Farm, and we’ll make sure to keep you in the loop about ways you can get involved, as well as how we’re giving back. We’ll explain how you can plan a visit with the whole family, get a virtual tour, become a volunteer or member, sponsor an animal, join us at an upcoming event, and much more.” [Email #1 (out of 6) copy excerpt]

“The very purpose of a healthy economy is to sustain human life, daily activity, and advance the prosperity of its citizens. If an economy doesn’t achieve this anymore, the economy would be considered failed. Humans’ historic and current consumption, production, trade, and investment patterns, however, have exploited the planet’s and our economies’ resources far beyond sustainability. We have created an unhealthy global economy.
For a sustainable economy, we need to examine the planetary boundaries in which it exists. The Doughnut Economics framework, developed by Kate Raworth, illustrates the requirements for a thriving and sustainable economy. It depicts the levels of planetary boundaries that must not be breached in order to sustain the ecosystems that support humans and all other life forms with whom we share the planet.“

“While human actions account for almost 100% of current climate change, there are two factors to the problem that human population poses to the climate.
Firstly, the rate at which humans are multiplying is unsustainable: while roughly half of the nations have already achieved below replacement value fertility (e.g., below 2.1 Total Fertility Rate), more than 100 nations have not yet achieved this “demographic transition.”
The second problem stems from humans’ behaviors, especially in the consumer economies and wealthy regions. Humans with disposable income consume at ever-growing levels that are obscenely wasteful, exorbitant, reckless, and disproportionate. Humans are using and wasting more resources than ever before.“

See some samples of copy I’ve written for flyers, infographics, press releases, and more below!
KATRIS is an eco-friendly B2C cat furniture manufacturer in California, who was invited to showcase their product at a trade show in Germany. The job was to create a bilingual flyer (front/back) in English and German to educate visitors on the unique piece’s versatility, functionality, and multi-use for cat-owners and felines alike. The audience was mostly unfamiliar with this unique type of product, so I wrote a strong explanation of its benefits and features, as well as the main payoffs for the end-users.
This print handout was for a medical conference to educate its attendees (mostly anesthesiologists, doctors, and medical staff) about the benefit and how-tos of sharing their live conference experience on social media channels. Most attendees were not very active social media users and not particularly “social media-savvy,” so the focus was on straight-to-the-point and friendly language that explained in simple ways what to do and why.
California cat furniture manufacturer KATRIS was invited to participate at a pet trade show in Las Vegas, NV showcasing their newest product addition – a multi-functional, expandable cat toy and scratcher. They needed a press release for both digital and print purposes to be distributed before and during the trade show for fellow exhibitors, as well as potential buyers. I had teamed up with a PR specialist and interviewed several key people at the company to get to the gist of this unique cat product, as well as the philosophy behind it, and its benefits to end-users. Both the show and the company’s publicity for its new launch turned out to be a big hit.
